The hit A24 comedy THE INVITE is set to make its SVOD debut next month, arriving on HBO Max on October 23rd, 2026. The film world premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival before launching in US theaters on June 26th, 2026. It hit VOD and digital platforms on August 11th, 2026.
Additionally, the film will debut on HBO linear on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The Invite is directed by Olivia Wilde, from a screenplay by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones. It is an English-language remake of the 2020 Spanish film The People Upstairs (Sentimental) by Cesc Gay, and stars Seth Rogen, Wilde, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton.
In the film, Joe and Angela’s marriage is on thin ice. When they invite their enigmatic upstairs neighbors for a dinner party, the night spirals into unexpected places. Have they reignited the spark or lit the match that burns it all down?
