The Black Bear Pictures boxing drama CHRISTY is set to make its SVOD debut next month, arriving on HBO Max on April 10th, 2026. The film world premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival before launching in US theaters on November 7th, 2025. It hit VOD and digital platforms on December 9th, 2025.
Christy is directed by David Michôd, written by Michôd and Mirrah Foulkes, and stars Sydney Sweeney, Ben Foster, Jess Gabor, Merritt Wever, Ethan Embry, Katy O’Brian, and Chad L. Coleman.
In the film, Christy Martin never imagined life beyond her small-town roots in West Virginia—until she discovered a knack for punching people. Fueled by grit, raw determination, and an unshakable desire to win, she charges into the world of boxing under the guidance of her trainer and manager-turned-husband, Jim. But while Christy flaunts a fiery persona in the ring, her toughest battles unfold outside it—confronting family, identity, and a relationship that just might become life-or-death.
