According to a source, Black Bear Pictures is expected to release their Sydney Sweeney boxing drama CHRISTY on VOD and digital platforms early next month, arriving on December 9th, 2025. The film world premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival before launching in US theaters on November 7th, 2025.
Please note: Black Bear Pictures has neither announced nor confirmed the release date. As always, release dates are subject to change.
Christy is directed by David Michôd, written by Michôd and Mirrah Foulkes, and stars Sydney Sweeney, Ben Foster, Jess Gabor, Merritt Wever, Ethan Embry, Katy O’Brian, and Chad L. Coleman.
In the film, Christy Martin never imagined life beyond her small-town roots in West Virginia—until she discovered a knack for punching people. Fueled by grit, raw determination, and an unshakable desire to win, she charges into the world of boxing under the guidance of her trainer and manager-turned-husband, Jim. But while Christy flaunts a fiery persona in the ring, her toughest battles unfold outside it—confronting family, identity, and a relationship that just might become life-or-death.
The release date was revealed on Apple’s Apple TV retail platform. The date has subsequently been removed, and the pre-order price has been adjusted, but we managed to take a screen shot:

We’ve added the release date to our Streaming Calendar. Check out the film’s official US trailer below.
