According to our sources, Sony Pictures Classics is expected to release their proshot version or the Stephen Sondheim musical MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG on VOD and digital platforms later this month, arriving on January 20th, 2026. The film launched in US theaters on December 5th, 2025.

Merrily We Roll Along is directed by Maria Friedman and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff, Lindsay Mendez, Krystal Joy Brown, Katie Rose Clarke and Reg Rogers.
Spanning two decades, Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s Merrily We Roll Along charts the turbulent relationship between composer Franklin Shepard and his two lifelong friends — writer Mary and lyricist & playwright Charley. Originally produced on Broadway in 1981, then becoming an inventive cult-classic ahead of its time, Merrily We Roll Along features some of Stephen Sondheim’s most celebrated and personal songs.
