When Will SAW X be Streaming? Our Forecast!

Courtesy Lionsgate

When Lionsgate launched SAW X into 3262 US theaters on September 29th, it was riding high will the best reviews a Saw movie had ever received. Granted, it only has a 60 score on Metacritic, but this has never been a franchise beloved by critics.

In recent years, audiences had also lost their taste for Jigsaw’s antics. When the 9th installment, Spiral, was released in 2021, it felt like we’d seen the last of Lionsgate’s cash cow. But cash cows are not dead horses! They can and will be beaten! So Saw X’s relative success at the box-office can be seen as vindication for keeping the series going. But when will it be available to stream? Let’s break it down:

The Film: Saw X

The Director: Kevin Greutert

Starring: Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Synnøve Macody Lund, Renata Vaca, Paulette Hernández, Octavio Hinojosa Martínez, Stephen Brand, Michael Beach, Joshua Okamoto

Theatrical Opening Date: September 29, 2023

The Studio: Lionsgate

The Forecast: It seems like a no-brainer that Lionsgate will want to get Saw X on PVOD during the Halloween season. The film is available for pre-order at a premium price ($24.99), which indicates a streaming release is imminent. Let’s look at the comps:

  • THE BLACKENING

    • In Theaters: June 16, 2023

    • PVOD: July 7, 2023 (21 days post-theatrical)

    • Starz: October 4, 2023 (110 days post-theatrical)

  • COBWEB

    • In Theaters: July 21, 2023

    • PVOD: August 11, 2023 (21 days)

    • Hulu: October 20, 2023 (91 days)

We’re almost certain Lionsgate will stick to their release pattern and offer Saw X on PVOD 21 days after theatrical launch. And we imagine the film will eventually end up on Starz (not Hulu).

Our Estimate (Just for fun):

PVOD Release Date: October 20, 2023

Starz Release Date: January 17, 2023
