When Will Oscar Winner I’M STILL HERE Be Available to Stream?

One of the big upsets at the 97th Academy Awards last night came during Best International Feature, where Walter Salles’ I’m Still Here made history by becoming the first Brazilian film to win in that category. With 13 nominations, Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Perez seemed to be the front runner through much of the season, but the film’s controversies around lead Karla Sofía Gascón seemed to deflate its momentum, leaving the door open for I’m Still Here’s big win.

When Penelope Cruz announced the winner, the Dolby Theater erupted in applause, and Salles made his way down the aisle. He stopped to embrace his star, Oscar-nominee Fernanda Torres, and inadvertently snubbed another nominee, Edward Norton. Poor guy went for the handshake and was left hanging. We’ve all been there, Ed.

The win was definitely a highlight on a night full of emotional moments. Sony Pictures Classics has done a terrific job of shepherding the film through awards season, and audiences have responded. The film, which received a one-week Oscar qualifying run in December 2024, launched in New York and Los Angeles on January 17th, 2025, before expanding to more cities on February 14th. To date, it’s earned an impressive $5.1M at the US box-office.

I’m Still Here is not the only Oscar nominee not yet available to stream. The Oscar winning Best Documentary Feature No Other Land, which still has no US distributor, is currently in select theaters with no streaming release date announced. But we get the most questions about I’m Still Here. So let’s speculate!

Sony Classics will want to capitalize on the film’s win and elevated profile with a big theatrical push. It’s currently in 762 theaters, and we wouldn’t be surprised if that total increased this weekend. An Oscar win isn’t quite the financial bonanza it used to be, but for arthouse audiences, it can definitely move the needle. Expect a healthy box-office jump for the film this weekend.

But we’re pretty confident the distributor will also want strike while the iron is hot and get the film on PVOD sooner rather than later. It is available for pre-order with major digital retailers at a premium price-point ($24.99), so that signals a release is likely imminent. How soon? We don’t have any inside information, and again, we’re only speculating, but our prediction is that they’ll pull the trigger and release it on PVOD on March 11th, 2025.

Of course, we’ll definitely post as soon as we have any news. In the meantime, you can pre-order the film at Amazon below, and check out the film’s trailer and a clip below.
