The buzz around FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S is growing. The video game series and media franchise will finally make its big screen debut this week, arriving in about 3,500 US theaters on October 27th, 2023. It will also be making its small screen debut, launching day-and-date on Peacock. But what time will it be available to stream?

We all know that official theatrical release dates are mostly technicalities. Most wide releases premiere earlier, offering ‘preview’ screenings the night (or afternoon) before the official date of release. Studios have used this strategy to help boost opening weekend box-office figures, so while marketing materials all still drive towards the ‘official’ launch date, early premieres are now the norm.

The same holds true for some streaming services. Both Prime Video and Apple TV+ consistently launch their original films the evening prior to their officially announced launch dates, with Prime Video titles dropping at 8p EST and Apple TV+ debuting at 9p EST. Netflix, Max and Hulu have not yet adopted this strategy, opting instead to release all their new releases at 3a EST.

So what time will Peacock release Five Nights at Freddy’s? Well we already know theatrical screenings will begin in the afternoon on Thursday, October 26th. And there are signs Peacock plans to release the film on their streaming service the evening before the ‘official’ premiere date. This would be consistent with Peacock’s two previous day-and-date October releases. Both Halloween Kills (2021) and Halloween Ends (2022) arrived on Peacock at 8p on the eve of their ‘official’ theatrical releases. In fact, some of Peacock’s ‘Coming Soon’ promotion actually have October 26th as the official launch date (see screenshot):

So while we do not yet have 100% official confirmation, we’re confident that FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S will arrive for streaming on Peacock on October 26th, 2023 at 8p EST.
