Samuel Goldwyn Films is set to release their epic French swashbuckler THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO on VOD and digital platforms later this month, arriving on January 31st, 2025. The film world premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival before launching in US theaters on December 20th, 2024.

The Count of Monte Cristo is based on the 1844 novel of the same name by Alexandre Dumas. The film is written and directed by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière and stars Pierre Niney, Bastien Bouillon, Anamaria Vartolomei, Anaïs Demoustier, Laurent Lafitte, Pierfrancesco Favino, Patrick Mille, Vassili Schneider, and Julien De Saint-Jean.

In the film, arrested on his wedding day for a crime he didn't commit, Edmond Dantes spends fourteen years in prison. After a daring escape, he becomes the wealthy Count of Monte Cristo and seeks revenge on the three men who betrayed him.
