According to our sources, Paramount is expected to release the Oscar-nominated drama SEPTEMBER 5 on VOD and digital platforms early next month, arriving on February 4th, 2025. The film world premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival before launching in US theaters in limited release on December 13th, 2024.

September 5 is directed, co-produced, and co-written by Tim Fehlbaum. It stars Peter Sarsgaard, John Magaro, Ben Chaplin, and Leonie Benesch. Moritz Binder, Fehlbaum, and Alex David, who wrote the script, were nominated last week for the Best Original Screenplay Oscar.

In the film, during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany, an American sports broadcasting team must adapt to live coverage the Israeli athletes being held hostage by a terrorist group.
