A24’s acclaimed drama JANET PLANET is set to make its SVOD debut later this year, arriving on Max on November 1st, 2024. The film world premiered at last year’s Telluride Film Festival before arriving in US theaters on June 21st, 2024. It became available on VOD and digital platforms on July 30th.

Janet Planet is a coming of age drama written and directed by Annie Baker in her feature directorial debut. It stars Julianne Nicholson, Zoe Ziegler, Elias Koteas, Will Patton, and Sophie Okonedo.

In 1991, an acupuncturist hippie named Janet spends the summer at home in rural western Massachusetts with her 11-year-old daughter, Lacy. Janet invites three people into her life: her boyfriend Wayne, her friend Regina, and local theatre group leader Avi. Lacy becomes skeptical of the three and remains attached to Janet, who grows frustrated with her daughter's clinginess.
