Catherine Breillat’s LAST SUMMER Gets Criterion Channel Live, Streaming Premiere Dates
The Janus Films/Sideshow release LAST SUMMER is set to make its SVOD debut later this week, arriving as a live-stream event on the Criterion Channel on Thursday, November 21st, 2024 at 9p ET/6p PT. The film will then be available to stream on demand starting December 1st, 2024.
The film world premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival before launching in US theaters on June 28th, 2024.
Last Summer was directed by Catherine Breillat, from a screenplay written by Breillat in collaboration with Pascal Bonitzer. It is a remake of the 2019 Danish film Queen of Hearts, and stars Léa Drucker and Samuel Kircher.
When Anne (Drucker) makes room in her home for her husband’s troubled seventeen-year-old son (Kircher) from a previous marriage, the two soon find themselves in the throes of an unexpected and dangerously lustful affair, threatening the stability of the household. With her first film in a decade, the fearless, provocative French auteur Catherine Breillat (Fat Girl) explores the limits of passion, denial, intimacy, and shame.
We’ve added both the livestream and on demand dates to our streaming calendars. Buy or rent the film on Amazon below, and check out the film’s official trailer.
