As first reported by The Film Stage, Andrea Arnold’s drama BIRD is set to make its streaming debut next month, arriving on MUBI on December 23rd, 2024. The film world premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival before launching in US theaters on November 8th, 2024.

The not announced, the film will likely be available for sale on digital platforms on the same day (as is MUBI’s custom).

Bird was written and directed by Andrea Arnold and stars Nykiya Adams, Barry Keoghan, and Franz Rogowski.

In the film, 12-year-old Bailey lives with her single dad Bug and brother Hunter in a squat in North Kent. Bug doesn’t have much time for his kids, and Bailey, who is approaching puberty, seeks attention and adventure elsewhere.
