The remake of the THE TOXIC AVENGER has quietly launched on Hulu, arriving today, January 8th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2023 Fantastic Fest before debuting in US theaters on September 29th, 2025. As of now, only the ‘R’ rated cut of the film is available on the Disney-owned streamer.
The Toxic Avenger is written and directed by Macon Blair, and is a remake of the 1984 film of the same name. The film stars Peter Dinklage as the title character, alongside Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Julia Davis, Jonny Coyne, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon.
In the film, when a downtrodden janitor, Winston Gooze (Dinklage), is exposed to a catastrophic toxic accident, he’s transformed into a new kind of hero: The Toxic Avenger. Now, Toxie must rise from outcast to savior, taking on ruthless corporate overlords and corrupt forces who threaten his son, his friends, and his community. In a world where greed runs rampant… justice is best served radioactive.
