According to our sources, Sony Pictures Classics is expected to release their French-language dark comedy A PRIVATE LIFE on VOD and digital platforms early next month, arriving on March 3rd, 2026. The film world premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and had a one-week Oscar-qualifying run in New York and Los Angeles on December 5th, 2025, before launching in theaters on January 16th, 2026.

A Private Life is directed and co-written by Rebecca Zlotowski, and stars Jodie Foster (in her third French-language film), alongside Daniel Auteuil, Virginie Efira, Mathieu Amalric, Vincent Lacoste and Luana Bajrami.
In the film, the renowned psychiatrist Lilian Steiner (Jodie Foster) mounts a private investigation into the death of one of her patients, whom she is convinced has been murdered.
