Inspirational Drama SARAH’S OIL Gets SVOD Streaming Premiere Date

The inspirational drama SARAH’S OIL is set to make its SVOD debut later this month, arriving on faith-based streaming service Wonder Project on February 8th, 2026. The film launched in US theaters via Amazon MGM Studios on November 7th, 2025, and hit PVOD on December 2nd, 2025.

Wonder Project is a new subscription streaming service available only through Amazon’s Prime Video channels. It is described as follows: Founded by established leaders from entertainment and technology, Wonder Project is dedicated to building a trusted brand that serves a vast but underserved audience with courageous stories that restore faith in things worth believing in.

Sarah’s Oil is directed, co-produced, and co-written by Cyrus Nowrasteh. It is inspired by the 2014 book Searching for Sarah Rector: The Richest Black Girl in America by Tonya Bolden, and stars Zachary Levi, Naya Desir-Johnson, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Garret Dillahunt.

In the film, Sarah Rector, an African-American girl born in Oklahoma Indian Territory in the early 1900s, believes there is oil beneath the barren land she’s allotted, and her faith is proven right. As greedy oil sharks close in, Sarah turns to her family, friends, and some Texas wildcatters to maintain control of her oil-rich land, eventually becoming among the nation’s first female African-American millionaires—at eleven years old.
