According to our sources, the Independent Film Company is expected to release their psychological thriller THE PLAGUE on VOD and digital platforms early next month, arriving on February 3rd, 2026. The film world premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2025 Cannes Film Festival before launching in US theaters in limited release on December 24th, 2025.

The Plague is written and directed by Charlie Polinger in his directorial debut. It stars Everett Blunck, Kayo Martin, Kenny Rasmussen, and Joel Edgerton, who is also a producer on the film.
In the film, a socially awkward tween endures the ruthless hierarchy at a water polo camp, his anxiety spiraling into psychological turmoil over the summer.
The Plague is nominated for three Film Independent Spirit Awards, including Best Feature, Beast Lead Performance (Blunck), and Best Breakthrough Performance (Martin).
