Horror Comedy FORBIDDEN FRUITS Digital Streaming Release Date Revealed

According to our sources, the Independent Film Company is expected to release their horror comedy FORBIDDEN FRUITS on VOD and digital platforms later this month, arriving on April 28th, 2026. The film world premiered at this year’s SXSW Festival before launching in US theaters on March 27th, 2026.

Please note: Independent Film Company has neither announced nor confirmed the release date. As always, release dates are subject to change.

Forbidden Fruits is directed by Meredith Alloway from a screenplay she co-wrote with Lily Houghton, and is based on Houghton’s stage play Of the woman came the beginning of sin, and through her we all die. It stars Lili Reinhart, Lola Tung, Victoria Pedretti, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Chamberlain, and Gabrielle Union.

In the film, Free Eden employee Apple secretly runs a witchy femme cult in the basement of the mall store after hours – with fellow fruits Cherry and Fig. But when new hire Pumpkin challenges their performative sisterhood, the women are forced to face their own poisons or succumb to a bloody fate.

We’ve added the release date to our Streaming Calendar. Pre-order the film from Amazon below, and check out the official trailer.
