HAMNET Gets Peacock Streaming Premiere Date

The Oscar nominated drama HAMNET is set to make its SVOD debut early next month, arriving on Peacock on March 6th, 2026. The film world premiered at last year’s Telluride Film Festival before launching in the US in limited release on November 26th, 2025. It hit PVOD on February 3rd, 2026.

Hamnet is co-written, co-edited and directed by Chloé Zhao, based on Maggie O’Farrell’s 2020 novel of the same name. It stars Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, Emily Watson, and Joe Alwyn.

From Academy Award winning writer/director Chloé Zhao, Hamnet tells the powerful story of love and loss that inspired the creation of Shakespeare’s timeless masterpiece, Hamlet.

The film was listed among the top ten films of 2025 by the American Film Institute, and won Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama (for Buckley) at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards. Buckley additionally won the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress.

It also received eight nominations at the 98th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for Zhao, Best Actress for Buckley, Best Adapted Screenplay (Zhao, O’Farrell), Best Casting (Nina Gold), Best Costume Design (Malgosia Turzanska), Best Production Design (Fiona Crombie and Alice Felton), and Best Original Score (Max Richter).
