Sony Pictures Classics is set to release their anime fantasy adventure SCARLET on VOD and digital platforms this week, arriving tomorrow, March 17th, 2026. The film world premiered at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival before launching in US theaters on February 6th, 2026.
Scarlet is written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda, and produced by Studio Chizu. It features the voices of Mana Ashida, Masaki Okada, and Kôji Yakusho.
From visionary Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Mamoru Hosoda (MIRAI) comes a powerful, time-bending animated adventure about Scarlet, a medieval-era, sword-fighting princess on a dangerous quest to avenge the death of her father.
