The acclaimed German drama SOUND OF FALLING is set to make its streaming debut next month, arriving on MUBI on April 24th, 2026. The film world premiered in competition at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize, and launched in US theaters on January 16th, 2026. As with most MUBI releases, we expected it will be available for digital purchase day-and-day with its SVOD premiere.
Sound of Falling is directed and co-written (with Louise Peter) by Mascha Schilinski, and stars Hanna Heckt, Lena Urzendowsky, Laeni Geiseler, Susanne Wuest, Luise Heyer, and Lea Drinda.
In the film, a remote German farm harbors generations of secrets. Four women, separated by decades but united by trauma, uncover the truth behind its weathered walls.
Sound of Falling was selected as the German entry for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards but was not nominated.
