When to Stream’s Weekly Tracking Report
Welcome to When To Stream’s Weekly Tracking Report. Every Friday, we’ll break down the film titles whose first window streaming premieres are still not confirmed. This column will not examine second window SVOD premieres, though we’ll obviously still be tracking and reporting those.
One note: There are hundreds of new films every year, and we’re not able to track or highlight every single one. For now, we concentrate on major studio and indie distributor releases.
Here are the film titles (in order of theatrical release) we are currently tracking:

Tracking: Janus Films’ usual 90-day window has come and gone. Still, we’re hopeful a digital and/or Criterion launch date announcement is coming soon.

Theatrical Release Date: May 31, 2024
Tracking: Unfortunately, this animated gem has not broken out at the box-office. Still no pre-order, but we anticipate a digital launch in the next few weeks.

VOD/Digital Estimate: Late August/Early September 2024
Theatrical Release Date: June 28, 2024
Tracking: This Janus Films/Sideshow release looks to play through its titular season. We’re estimating it’ll arrive on streaming in September.

Theatrical Release Date: July 12, 2024
Tracking: The film arrived on PVOD on 8/13.

Tracking: We know a few sites are reporting an 8/27 release date, but the distributor has assured us their launch plans have not been set. That might end up being the date, but no confirmation yet.

Tracking: This Cohen Media release will likely follow the distributor’s usual playbook: At least a 45-day theatrical window.

Tracking: A24 continues to roll this out very slowly. Pushing back our estimate a bit to reflect it has not yet gone wide.

Tracking: This Disney release will likely follow their 2024 playbook: At least 60-days theatrically exclusive. Don’t expect to see this hit digital until the end of September.

Tracking: Focus is taking this wide this weekend, so we’ll consider the 18-day theatrical window clock started.

Tracking: This will be an interesting test of Shyamalan’s deal with Warner Bros. Does he get a Nolan-esque 90+ day theatrical exclusive window? We’re estimating no, but we could be wrong!

Tracking: Sony’s theatrical exclusive windows have been pretty consistent this year, giving their films 45-days in theaters. We’re estimating the same for this family title.

Tracking: Sony Pictures Classics has been pushing this Irish import hard, and it’s doing fine (not great). Sticking to our estimate for now.

Tracking: Lionsgate has consistently given their titles a 3-week theatrical window, which sounds about right here.

Tracking: NEON has shown flexibility with their titles this year, so we’re estimating this will have a similar window to their Spring hit Immaculate, which launched on VOD/Digital at 25 days.

Tracking: This title is releasing through indie label Metrograph, so we’ll see how quickly they pivot from theatrical to digital. We’re estimating at least 45 days.

Tracking: Another big fat hit for Sony, but we’re still estimating their usual 45-day window.

Tracking: Using Disney’s 60-day theatrical window model would put this title’s digital date right in the Halloween corridor. Sounds about right.

Tracking: A Roadside Attractions release, we’re estimating a similar window to their early summer title Summer Camp, which came to digital after 25 days.
