Sheryl Bradshaw is on a bad date. In the brand-new teaser for Anna Kendrick’s directorial debut Woman of the Hour, Sheryl (Oscar nominee Kendrick) is seated at a chintzy, tropical-themed bar, and her date (played by Daniel Zovatto) is starting to make her feel uncomfortable. He tenses at her laugh, sets his drink down a little too hard, and orders another round without checking with her. When his back is turned, she shakes her head at the server. Something isn’t right.

Sheryl’s instincts are correct. She doesn’t know it yet, but the man seated across from her is ruthless serial killer Rodney Alcala. The date’s tension is only exacerbated by the strange circumstances of their original meeting: Sheryl and Rodney met on The Dating Game, the popular 1970s blind-dating game show. And all of this is based on a true story.

You can find the release date on our streaming calendar. Check out the new teaser trailer and poster below.
